SUZUKI METHOD

"Children who learn beautiful music, will have a beautiful heart."

- Shinichi Suzuki

"For the sake of our children let us educate them from the cradle to have a noble mind, a high sense of values... we use violin playing to develop these qualities in children." - Shinichi Suzuki

What is the Suzuki Method?

The Suzuki Method, also known as the "Mother Tongue Approach" was developed in Japan by Shinichi Suzuki.  Dr. Suzuki understood that we learn to speak not by reading, but by listening to our parents speak to us.  Through this, he realized that children can learn the violin in the same way; through listening and then imitating what they hear.

The Suzuki Method is built around the belief that musical ability is not an inborn talent, but an ability that can be developed. The method is characterized by parental involvement, loving encouragement, and whole-child development.
